AETHER ("we", "us") is a tier-list ranking tool at getaether.uk. This page explains what data we collect, why, and what control you have over it. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to make the product work and don't sell anything to anyone.
Anonymous use. When you use AETHER without signing in, your tier-list data lives in your browser's localStorage. It never leaves your device unless you explicitly use the "Share" feature, which stores a snapshot in our infrastructure for 90 days so you can send a link to friends.
Signed-in use. Sign-in is via Steam OpenID. Steam shares your numeric SteamID with us (a 17-digit number). We do not receive your password, email, or any other Steam profile data without your initiative. If you choose to import your library, we fetch your owned games from the public Steam API.
Lists and comments. Tier-lists you save to your account, public-list descriptions, and comments are stored in our Cloudflare D1 database, associated with your SteamID.
Pro waitlist email. If you submit an email to be notified about Pro launch, that email is stored in our database until you ask us to remove it.
AI taste analysis (Pro). When you generate an AI analysis, the names of items in your list and your filter choices are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. We do not include your personal identifiers in that request. Anthropic's policies apply to that data while it's with them; see anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
Analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookie-less and does not track individuals. It tells us aggregate visitor counts and which pages are viewed, nothing more.
Payments (Pro). Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy. We never see your card details. We receive a record of your subscription status (active / cancelled / expired) which we store against your SteamID so we can unlock Pro features.
We use exactly one cookie: aether_session, an HttpOnly signed cookie that keeps you signed in for 30 days. No advertising or tracking cookies.
All persistent data is stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure (Pages, D1, KV, R2). Cloudflare operates a global edge network; data may be served from any of their data centres but is logically stored in their EU and US regions.

Account data is kept while your account is active. Delete your account by emailing hello@getaether.uk; we will remove all associated lists, comments, and subscription records within 30 days. Share snapshots auto-expire 90 days after creation. Pro waitlist emails are deleted within 30 days of you asking us to.
AETHER is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has registered, email us and we'll delete the account.
If we change this policy materially, we'll update the date at the top and, where reasonable, notify users via the app or by email (for waitlist members). Continued use of AETHER after a change indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
